Last Tuesday, Entertainment Tonight featured an interview with Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson on the set of Ghost in the Shell. The GitS crew is filming in New Zealand and ET was able to capture them in the middle of filming an intense action scene.
Johansson and actor Pilou Asbaek are together in the scene and it was reported that the scene took four days to shoot. See video below. ???
The video introduces Johansson as someone who has come a long way in showbiz. She has graduated from ?sexy love interest? roles to playing some of the biggest iconic female characters. Johansson?had been Lucy, a girl who obtained superhuman abilities when a drug was implanted in her body and leaked inside her. She is the Avengers known as Black Widow. Now, Scarlett Johansson?plays The Major in the upcoming live adaptation of Ghost in the Shell by Masamune Shirow.

The Ghost in the Shell Live Action Movie is set to follow the original manga series created by Masamune Shirow. The story will focus on the Major and her mission to stop the most dangerous criminals as well as fight against a new enemy that threatens to sabotage Hanka Robotic?s Artificial Intelligence technology.

Despite the controversial casting of Scarlett Johansson as the lead, legendary Japanese actor ?Beat? Takeshi Kitano will be playing the head of Section 9, Daisuke Aramaki. Kitano is one of the most respected actors in Japanese cinema. His involvement in the film is sure to boost its popularity in the East Asian region.
The character Batou will be played by Pilou Asbaek, while the primary antagonist?the Laughing Man?will be portrayed by Michael Pitt. Rupert Sanders, the man behind Snow White and the Huntsman, will be at the director?s chair.
