Samsung UK announced that starting on March 28, Galaxy S5 will become available for pre-orders in the region. Galaxy S5 is going to be available across several retailers aside from Samsung?s e-store in London before the month ends.
Galaxy S5 Pre-Orders
Samsung UK posted on their official Web site the Galaxy S5 pre-registration along with its key features. Users need to input certain details, choose between pre-orders or updates and checklist to receive further email from other Samsung products.
According to SamMobile, Galaxy S5 will become available for pre-order starting March 28 across different retailers including Samsung?s e-store, a brick-and-mortar store and more. Carphone Warehouse is set to accept pre-orders of Galaxy S5 on April 11th, official global release date.
Clove, a UK-based retailer posted Galaxy S5 for pre-orders priced at ?599.99 with taxes almost equivalent to $1000. That price only represents the 16 GB variant and Clove didn?t mention anything yet regarding the 32 GB variant.
Amazon Spain listed the device at ?730 or ?600 for the 16 GB model while 32 GB is still unavailable. International users, including those in the United States will have to wait longer, probably up to April 11th during the official release of the handset.
Upcoming Metallic Variant
Early rumours of Galaxy S5 include upgrades on components using metal to bring premium design compared to former Galaxy S flagship devices using plastic. However, Samsung didn?t release the rumoured variant, instead they released a standard type having a different design than S4.
According to new rumours, executives at Samsung who were in a closed-door meeting are planning to unveil a Galaxy S5 metallic variant on May 2014 which will be classified under the Galaxy F line or selections of high-end yet premium devices.
Galaxy F project may hold Samsung?s final trick for Galaxy S5 and probably unveil certain features rumoured before that never appeared on the current Galaxy S5 variant.
- Exynos Infinity SoC processor with 64-bit support – Galaxy S5 uses Snapdragon 801.
- Optical Image Stabilisation camera module – Galaxy S5 features ISOCELL only.
- Pure metallic components such as casing, button and other hardware keys.
- Bigger RAM chipset to maximise 64-bit processor – Galaxy S5 sports 2 GB of RAM.
- Retina Scanner aside from Fingerprint Sensor, although considered premature for commercial use.
Prospective buyers who cannot wait for the rumoured metallic S5 will have to enjoy ?the current variant that features 5.1 full HD display screen, IP67 dust and water resistances, 2 GB of RAM, 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU and up to 128 GB microSD card support.
