Samsung released two variants of the new Gear S3 smartwatch in the beginning of September. Both Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic flaunt a circular design and they run Tizen OS out of the box. Here, in this post, we have pitted the predecessor Gear S2 against the Gear S3.

The Gear S3 variants are bigger, better and heavier than the Gears S2 models. For instance, the S3 Classic weighs 57g, whereas the Frontier weighs 62g. Meanwhile, the predecessor Gear S2 weighs 47g and the Classic variant weighs 42g.
Speaking of exterior design, Samsung has made use of durable stainless steel in both Gear S2 and Gear S3. While the S2 is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, the S3 makes use of the much-better Gorilla Glass SR+.

Samsung has generously housed a 380 mAh battery cell in the Gear S3. Samsung says this wearable device can offer up to four days of battery life. The Gear S2 features a smaller 250 mAh battery cell, which offers two days of battery life.
