Samsung has officially announced their new smartwatch, the Samsung Gear S2, after recently teasing the product at an event earlier this month. The latest gear from the Korean technology company giant, according to Samsung’s Mobile Press, will feature a “versatile circular design for an intuitive, convenient, and enjoyable mobile experience.”
Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic
The new smartwatch from Samsung will introduce two new different options which will be the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic. According to Samsung’s Mobile Press, the Gear S2 will be ideal “for those who are on-the-go and have an admiration for minimal and modern design” while the Gear S2 Classic will sport “a more timeless watch design, offering an elegant Black finish with a matching genuine leather band.”
“For the past several years, Samsung has pioneered and advanced the wearable category, bringing brave new concepts to the smart wearables market,” CEO and Head of Samsung’s IT & Mobile Business JK Shin stated, according to Samsung’s Mobile Press.
“The Samsung Gear S2 reflects Samsung’s most progressive innovation. It is the perfect complement for any occasion, easily taking you from day to night, from work to workout – and ensuring that you get more out of every moment in your day, by making it smarter and ultimately more personal and fun.”
The Gear S2 will sport a 1.2-inch circular screen with a 360×360 resolution (302 ppi) and will be incredibly 11.4-millimeter thin. It will also have the latest Tizen OS and an optimized 1-GHz dual core processor, making your tasks easy and efficient.
According to Samsung’s Mobile Press,users of the Gear S2 can also quickly check with ‘at-a-glance’ notifications to access emails, news, calendars and will even be able to send texts directly from their wrist.Samsung has also introduced 3G connectivity which will include an’e-SIM’ with voice control, so you can have the easy access to the functions of the smartwatch”without being closely tethered to their phone.”
