Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Release Date In September Nears As Predecessor Gets $100 Official Discount

Samsung?s well-received ?Tab S? series will soon be getting an 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch successors. While we reported earlier that the upcoming Galaxy Tab S3 release date is likely set for September 1, Samsung?s official store has cut the price of the current-generation Tab S2 by up to $100.

With this limited period offer, you can purchase the 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S2 for just $399.99 (original price: $499.99) and the 8.0-inch model for $349.99 (original price: $399.99). Buyers can also avail free shipping service from the tech giant.

Samsung says this offer is good through September 10 or until the supplies last. The South Korean tech giant is selling this tablet in Black, White and Gold hues. It is worth noting that the discounted model does not support 3G/4G as it?s a Wi-Fi only variant. Interested buyers can head to?Samsung Store to order the device.

Moving on to the rumored?Galaxy Tab S3 specifications, both 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch display clad models will apparently carry 2,048 x 1,536 pixels screen resolution. As always, Samsung will make use of the Super AMOLED display technology for its tablets.

Under the hood, this slate will reportedly be powered by an octa-core (Snapdragon 652) SoC. This chipset has four Cortex-A72 CPU cores and four Cortex-A53 CPU cores onboard. While the graphics requirements will be taken care by Adreno 510 GPU, the internal components will be backed by a solid 3GB of RAM.

The general expectation is that the Galaxy Tab S3 will come equipped with 32GB of built-in storage space as the base variant. In addition, there will be a microSD card slot to facilitate expansion of up to 128GB, similar to the predecessor.

Samsung?s?Tab S lineup is known for its ultra-thin exterior and also for lightweight. Even though we do not know the exact configurations, we are hoping that the next-generation tablets will be thinner than the predecessors. Note, the Galaxy Tab S2 measures only 0.22-inches.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Tab S3 will apparently feature an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, in addition to a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. And, yes, even though this device will run Marshmallow out of the box, it is compatible with the?latest Android 7.0 Nougat.
