At the IFA 2016 event, Samsung did not unveil the heavily-anticipated Galaxy Tab S3. Evidently, all eyes are on the South Korean tech giant to introduce this device in the coming months.
This slate is believed to be very powerful and rumor has it that a Note 7-like S Pen stylus could be part of the device bundle. Meanwhile, the predecessor Galaxy Tab S2 is now available at a significantly discounted price.
This is an official price cut. OEMs usually cut the price of the current-generation device to clear the stock and give way for the successor. Hence, it is safe to assume that the Galaxy Tab S3 is in the offing.
Samsung?s online store is now selling the 8.0-inch Galaxy Tab S2 for $329.99. The original price of this device is $399. However, the 9.7-inch variant is not available on discount as it is being sold at the original price of $499.
Samsung says this offer is valid until the supplies last. The South Korean tech giant is selling this tablet in Black, White and Gold colors. It is worth mentioning that the discounted variant does not support 3G/4G as it?s a Wi-Fi only model. Potential buyers in the U.S. can head to?Samsung Store to order the slate.
On a related note, the South Korean tech giant recently introduced a variant of the Galaxy Tab A (2016) with support for S Pen stylus. This Tab A variant is now available in select countries at a price of $435. Soon, this device is expected to make international debut.
Speaking of Galaxy Tab S3, Samsung is gearing up to release 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch models with 2,048 x 1,536 pixels resolution. As always, expect Super AMOLED display technology to be part of the slate.
Under the hood, Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC will reportedly work in tandem with an octa-core CPU to power this device. The graphics side of things will be handled by Adreno 510 GPU. And the internal configurations will be backed by a good 3GB of RAM.
Moreover, the Galaxy Tab S3 is expected to come with 32GB of native storage space. To top it off, this device will feature a microSD card slot to facilitate expansion of up to 128GB.
An 8-megapixel rear-facing camera unit, in addition to 2-megapixel secondary snapper for selfies and video chats, can be expected. Have no doubt, Android 7.0 Nougat will run the Tab S3 out of the box.
