Last Mar. 29, Samsung unveiled its much awaited flagship phone, the Galaxy S8. Along with the new smartphone, the company also unleashed a plethora of new products that will go along with the phone. Bolstered by the success of the launch, Samsung is now considering the release of the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 much earlier than expected.

According to initial rumors, the Galaxy Note 8 will be released later this year. Basing from the previous Note release, it could be sometime in August. However, new reports suggest that it might happen sooner than that. Furthermore, it would seem that Samsung is once again trying to outdo Apple on the release of the iPhone 8.

The Galaxy Note 8 is rumored to be made of one massive screen. In earlier leaks, some design notes revealed that the phablet is at least 6.4 inches diagonally. The rumored size is slightly bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S8+.

Apart from the incredibly large screen, the Galaxy Note will also feature the Snapdragon 835 chip from Qualcomm. Rumor has it that Samsung is considering an incremental upgrade of the 835. However, since the company is having a hard time producing the 835, it would seem that Samsung will have no choice but to stick with it for the time being. For other parts of the hardware, the main chip will be paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of flash storage. As usual, there will still be support for a microSD card slot for the purpose of extending the storage size.

The design of Galaxy Note 8 will be somewhat similar to the Galaxy S8. However, according to earlier leak, the edges will be more rounded than before. Just like the Galaxy S8, there will be no hardware buttons at the front of the device; which will be mostly screen. Samsung is also considering having a dual camera setup for the Galaxy Note 8 as well as a possibility of dual cameras for the front too. This will be used as an improvement to the facial recognition feature of the Galaxy S8.

Samsung is yet to announce the full details of the specs for the Galaxy Note 8. However, for those who are curios about how it would look like, you can check is out from the latest Galaxy Note 8 leaks here.
