Samsung Galaxy S8 Release To Skip MWC 2017; Samsung Planning a Special Event in April Instead

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is the next flagship smartphone up for the South Korean electronics giant. The company has a lot riding on the Galaxy S8 as it hopes to bounce back strong after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. The Galaxy S8 is expected by many to be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017, which is happening in February. It appears though that Samsung has other plans as the Galaxy S8 may not be making an appearance at MWC 2017.

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge was successfully launched during MWC 2016. Many were expecting the tech giant to follow the same path and announce their next flagship at MWC 2017 which is set to happen in February of next year.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Not Happening at MWC 2017

Samsung may keep everyone waiting a little longer before seeing the Galaxy S8. This is because the company is rumored to be planning a special launch event in April for the smartphone.

According to SamMobile, Samsung may pass on unveiling the Galaxy S8 during MWC 2017 as what many are expecting. Instead, the electronics company is expected to launch the smartphone in a dedicated event in April.

Galaxy S8 Special Launch Event Rumored to Happen in April

This is certainly very exciting news for Galaxy S8 fans as it means the phone will be having its very own special launch event. The report mentions that the special event will be taking place in New York but no specific date is confirmed just yet.

This move by Samsung is likely to help build more hype and interest in the Galaxy S8. It could also be that Samsung is taking the conservative approach and not rush the launch of its flagship smartphone.

It should be noted that the entire Galaxy Note 7 battery problem was caused by the company rushing to release a great smartphone ahead of Apple?s iPhone 7. Samsung may have finally learned its lesson by taking it slow with the Galaxy S8.
