Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Rumors: Specs To Include 8GB RAM, UFS 2.1, Beast Mode

By on

The Samsung Galaxy S8?s release date and specs have been teased over the past couple of days.

The company had a disastrous Galaxy Note 7 manufacturing defect ordeal earlier this year. However, it seems keen on moving forward with it latest product offering.

Samsung Galaxy S8 release date

According to Forbes, Samsung Galaxy S8 is slated to come out on April 2017. This will be in place of its traditional reveal during the Mobile World Congress.

The reported delay is to give manufacturers enough time to resolve their battery issues. By taking more time, the South Korean tech giant hopes to ensure the handset?s safety measures and regain consumer confidence.

Postponing the launch also gives Samsung the advantage in terms of media coverage. The S8?s unveiling will happen a couple of weeks after other Android devices have already made news at the Mobile World Congress.

Phone Arena also reported about the new handset?s alleged specs.

The latest model will reportedly have 8GB of RAM and a UFS 2.1 flash storage chip. These are contrary to initial rumors about a 6GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It will also feature a dual-camera at the back instead of the usual single rear snapper.

However, one of the most controversial rumors about the new smartphone is related to its size. The rumor mill has been abuzz about how the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will allegedly have a 6-inch display.

If this is true, then it will somewhat eliminate the need for a Samsung Galaxy Note 8. This has fuelled speculations that the controversial phablet line will finally be killed off.

Samsung’s New Beast Mode

Many are also curious for the S8?s much-talked about ?Beast Mode?. News about it has been circulating following a leak of the term?s trademark application supposedly submitted by Samsung.

Rumors suggest that the mode will refer to new Samsung devices? improved processing power. The handsets? graphical ability and increased memory is also expected to get affected. Some speculate that it is the opposite of Android devices? ?battery saver? modes.
