A few weeks before 2016 ended, there have been rumors that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S8 in April. Now, reports shed more light on the actual date of the said release. In addition to that, an image of the supposed Galaxy S8 has surfaced on the internet.
According to Sammobile, the much awaited Samsung Galaxy S8 will be released in New York on April 18. This would mean that there is a chance that the actual unveiling will take place during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC).
For a few years now, Samsung has been a regular participant of the annual MWC in Barcelona, Spain. The event is used by major phone manufacturers in introducing their newest lineup for the coming months. Back in 2016, Samsung used the event to unveil the Galaxy S8’s predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S7. It looks like the event will also feature the newest smartphone from Samsung.
In addition to the phone release, an image of the supposed Samsung Galaxy S8 surfaces on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo. In the image, the Galaxy S8 is shown in a gold casing and with the physical buttons absent from the phone. Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to verify the validity of the leaked image. Some of the users are actually saying that the image in question has been digitally altered. Nevertheless, the Chinese site has been a home for a number of product leaks in the past few years.
From the looks of it, it would seem that Samsung is serious in delivering a great smartphone this year. Based on the leaked image, the phone looks absolutely phenomenal.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is said to feature the newest processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 835. In addition to this, the chip will be paired with an 8GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. On paper, the Galaxy S8 is meant to perform and deliver the best mobile experience to its users.
