The Samsung Galaxy S8 is still several months away from its release yet many people are already talking about the next flagship smartphone from Samsung. The upcoming phone is poised to become the next big thing for the South Korean electronics giant. While comparisons with Apple?s iPhones cannot be avoided, the recent rumor reveals that the Galaxy S8 could incorporate one feature found on the iPhone 7.

Apple and Samsung have constantly been trying to outdo each other when it comes to specs and features of their smartphones. The fierce rivalry appears to continue in the upcoming smartphone releases as recent rumblings indicate that Samsung could be copying one controversial feature which was made by Apple on its iPhone 7.

According to SamMobile, there appears to be a strong possibility that Samsung will be removing the 3.5mm headphone jack for the Galaxy S8. This is certainly very surprising considering that many tech fans were dismayed when Apple did exactly the same thing with its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

People are undoubtedly used to the 3.5mm headphone jack as this is being used with other audio devices such as laptops, computers and tablets. The decision of Apple to remove the headphone jack and replace it with its Lightning Connector was a huge surprise for many iPhone fans. It appears that Samsung fans will not be spared as the early indication is that the Galaxy S8 will also not have the headphone jack.

This decision could possibly be to help Samsung maximize the design of the Galaxy S8. Without the headphone jack, it is possible to make the smartphone thinner or they could place a bigger batter too. The logical replacement would be the Micro USB or the Bluetooth headphones which could work as well.
