The year 2017 will host a great battle between two much-anticipated handsets – the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Apple iPhone 8. With so much rumors online, it seems like the former will boast specs similar to Apple?s upcoming flagship phone.
Samsung and Apple have been going at it for several years already. Giving consumers what they want is what these companies do. However, after Samsung?s unfortunate Galaxy Note 7 case, the Korean company has a lot of catching up to do. And, its next smartphone could get it back in the game.
As early as now, Galaxy S8 is indeed one of the highly-anticipated phones in 2017. However, recent rumors suggest that the upcoming handset will have features similar to Apple?s iPhone 8. Here are some of them as what Bloomberg reported.
According to the portal, Samsung Galaxy S8 will boast of an all-screen front surface. It is a feature that will present an edge-to-edge display with no home button. But, it seems like Samsung is not the only company planning to do that. Previous reports stated that Apple is also going to remove the home button on its handset, which will make both phones similar to each other.
Other speculations claim that Samsung will not totally remove the home button on its device. Instead, it will be just less visible. Either less visible or none at all, this is a setup that is similar to iPhone 8?s rumored specs.
Furthermore, rumor has it that Samsung will also remove the headphone jack from the Galaxy S8. Should that be the case, it will be a clear indication that the Korean company is taking a page from Apple?s iPhone 8. If Samsung would really remove the headphone jack, it is expected to rely on USB Type-C Technology for audio playback.
Lastly, the Korean tech giant is also planning to have its own artificial intelligence-powered assistant, according to speculations. If it will create an AI assistant, it will directly compete with Apple?s Siri and Google Assistant. Also, Galaxy S8 is said to have a dedicated AI button that will summon the assistant quickly. The feature is still being tested and may not end up on the final design.
These speculations are obviously suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Apple iPhone 8 will have so much in common. But, which one do you think will be more successful next year? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
