The Samsung Galaxy S8, the South Korean manufacturer?s 2017 flagship phone, is rumored to support a bezel less display. The latest rumors and leaks have turned into reality thanks to designer @KingwayLee. He envisions a curved display Galaxy S8 with a thin top and bottom bezels.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Concept
The latest Samsung Galaxy S8 concept shows an even slimmer device with a new set of icons on screen. Rumors have largely indicated that Samsung is about to give up the Physical Home button and instead embed the fingerprint sensor beneath the display. Others, however, say the home button is not going away just yet.
The concept shows presence of the physical home button which is quite discreet due to its small size. The rear features a single camera setup with auto-flash unlike the dual camera setup expected to headline the Galaxy S8. Interestingly, the concept is similar to that of the OLED iPhone 8. Apple?s upcoming 2017 iPhone lineup is expected to feature a similar design with a bezel less curved display and lack of the physical home button.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Features & Specs
The South Korean Electronics giant will launch Samsung Galaxy S8 in display size variants but both featuring the dual Edge displays. Famous tipster Evan Blass previously hinted two Galaxy S8 models with numbers SM-G950 and SM-G955 will have 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch screen sizes, respectively.
The smaller screen size variant will feature a QHD resolution while the larger variant will support a UHD panel. Recent leaks point to a 6-inch model dubbed as the Galaxy S8 Plus. It will reportedly support a SUPER AMOLED display panel.
The Galaxy S8 also will pack the Qualcomm 10nm Snapdragon 835 processor while units in South Korea will ship with the company?s own Exynos chipsets. In addition, significant bump in the RAM size was hinted by another well known tipster. Ice Universe has suggested that Samsung Galaxy S8 will pack an 8GB RAM. He further said that the Galaxy S8 will come with the company’s UFS 2.1 flash storage.
Also, there were rumors recently of Samsung planning to introduce something called Beast Mode to the Galaxy S8. The upcoming feature was spotted in a trademark application from Europe. Although not much is known at this point, the feature will likely leverage the performance of the top-end SoC.
There are talks that Samsung will delay the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus launch from its usual MWC schedule. The company will beef up its testing procedure to avoid a repeat of the Note 7 debacle. The S8 reveal may have been pushed back to April and primarily be unveiled during an event in New York.
