Samsung Galaxy S7 and its Edge variant will reportedly start receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat Beta.
The South Korean tech giant announced its Galaxy Beta Program last November. With it, customers who own a Galaxy S7 or S7 edge can test the upcoming Nougat release in beta phase.
Because of this, there have been a number of Android 7.0 Nougat updates during the last couple of weeks. Bugs were fixed and new enhancements were rolled out to the phones. Now, there were reports that a fourth major update is appearing for those under the Android 7.0 beta program.
Samsung Galaxy S7 on Android Nougat
According to 9 to 5 Google, Nougat?s new build for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is dubbed as ZPLH. It is said to be loaded with bug improvements, enhanced features and overall device improvements.
An earlier beta update also introduced the Samsung Notes application. However, the app has been removed in the newest update.
An image shared by Android Central also revealed the update screen for the latest Nougat release on Galaxy units.
Unfortunately, for those who did not avail of the beta program, Samsung has already closed the registration. Nonetheless, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge units are expected to get the final firmware update and Nougat build in the next couple of weeks.
American mobile carrier T-mobile was first to slip about the new operating system update for Samsung devices.
More details eventually surfaced, specifying that the Note 5, the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge will also be getting the upgrade soon.
Mobile World Congress
In related news from South Korea, Samsung will reportedly present the upcoming Galaxy S8 phone soon. Alleged insiders claim that the standalone event will happen in New York on April 2017.
If this date is true, then the company is likely to not be part of the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona happening on February 27, 2017. The annual event is where Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones last year.
