The Samsung Galaxy S5 is finally arriving on April 11 at various carriers in the United States, including T ? Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and MetroPCS. The new version of its flagship smartphone model was first revealed at the Mobile World Congress on Monday in Barcelona. The Korean tech company also announced its collection of wearables, namely the Fit wristband tracker, the Galaxy Gear 2 and the Galaxy Gear 2 Neo. No prices have been announced.
Samsung Goes All Out at MWC 2014
Samsung went all ? out at this year?s Mobile World Congress, launching three wearable gadgets and a new flagship mobile device. The Galaxy S5 focuses on everyday fitness. Among all the rumors that circulated, the 4K screen was the only one that did not materialize.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 now offers a 5.1 ? inch, full HD Super AMOLED screen display. This mobile device features awesome hardware with a Qualcomm Snapdragon, 2.5 GHz quad ? core processor, 16/32 GB storage spaces, 2GB of RAM, a 2.1-megapixel front camera, a 16-megapixel back camera, and a 2,800mAh battery. The mobile device also runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with LTE support and Wi-Fi 802.11ac standard.
Galaxy S5 Focuses on Camera Features
For the new Galaxy S5, Samsung places great emphasis on its high ? tech camera features. It has a fast auto ? focus up to 0.3 seconds and comes with a real ? time HDR to give your photos and videos an HDR effect as you take shots. The Galaxy S5?s camera also has selective focus, and a shot ? and ? more feature that allows you to select the best photo among the several photos taken on rapid shots.
Water and Dust Resistant
The Samsung Galaxy S5 can be immersed in water up to 3 feet. It also has a fingerprint scanner built into its home button, just like the iPhone 5S. While this feature lets you unlock the phone with your fingerprint, you can also protect your important files and make PayPal payments using your fingerprint.
The device also has a built ? in heartrate monitor, as well as a power -? saving mode that saves your battery life. The design has changed a bit with an uneven surface on its back. You can avail the new Galaxy S5 in four colors: shimmery white, copper gold, charcoal black and copper gold.
