T-Mobile is now rolling out the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 3. At the same time, Samsung rolls out Android KitKat for United Kingdom variant of both devices.
Android KitKat for T-Mobile and UK Users
After falling behind other network carriers in the United States, T-Mobile finally rolls out the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat software for Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3. Official Android 4.4.2 KitKat for T-Mobile Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 is now available via Firmware Over-the-Air process using the built-in software updater and Samsung Kies PC suite installed on a computer.
It sizes up to 388 MB which would require space on the internal storage so make sure you have plenty of free space for the firmware. Once you have updated the device, the firmware build number will change to M919UVUFNB4 from Android 4.3 Jelly Bean M919UVUEMK2 build.
In Europe, United Kingdom handset users are also receiving live firmware updates from Samsung via FOTA. The official firmware sizes from 300 to 400 MB that updates both Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 UK variants to Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
So far, Android 4.4.2 KitKat in UK is currently available in the unlocked models and you may need to double check Samsung Kies PC suite in case FOTA doesn?t work.

According to the network?s official Web site, users must fulfil several requirements before updating the device to Android 4.4.2 KitKat such as firmware running M919UVUEMK2 (Android 4.3), unrooted device, at least 50 per cent battery life, Samsung Kies PC suite (optional), free space of 400 MB and good Internet connection.
For UK unlocked models of Galaxy S4 and Note 3, owners can expect changes such as translucent notifications bars, neater texts and app icons, updates on the Dialer, Hangouts, SMS/MMS and music player. ?Ok Google? becomes a part of the Google Now service which can be activated by voice controls.
Similar with T-Mobile, UK owners will get faster performance and better multitasking due to reduced memory usage and optimisation of various system related functionalities. Android 4.4.2 KitKat also delivers battery enhancements to keep the fun going longer than before.
