Samsung Galaxy Note 7 release on Aug. 2 release has been confirmed by South Korean electronics giant.

Aside from confirming the smartphone, Samsung also gave a few hints about the Galaxy Note 7. The juicy details will surely help drum up even more publicity for the phone.

The announcement, which the company made via its Samsung Newsroom page on its website, mentions that there Galaxy Note 7 will have a larger screen and its S Pen will have added functionality. So far, those are the only details that Samsung has dropped about the device. Expect more updates to be released by the company or other well-known leakers in the days leading up to the August 2 Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, which will be held in New York City at 11:00 a.m. ET.

Other rumored features for the Galaxy Note 7 is the much awaited iris scanner, a Super AMOLED display and a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor under the hood. All of these certainly make the Galaxy Note 7 one intriguing smartphone.
