It may not be gathering the same media attention as the iPhone 6, but fans of Samsung?s Galaxy Note line of phablets may be eager to learn that new reports from Korea suggest that the new Galaxy Note 4 may be unveiled in September. They may be up for another surprise as the new Galaxy Gear 3 may also be announced alongside the Note 3?s successor.
One of South Korea?s most-read English newspapers, the Korea Herald, recently reported that a new wearable device will be unveiled by Samsung together with the Galaxy Note 4. If this proves to be accurate, it may indicate that the Korean tech giant plans to release at least two Gear devices each year. Looking back, the first Galaxy Gear was launched in September 2013 and everybody was taken aback when the company released the Galaxy Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Galaxy Gear Fit about six months afterwards.
Many tech observers are rooting for a September release of the Galaxy Note 4. This is in ?line with Samsung?s recent trend of launching new Note models during the annual IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) event in Berlin, Germany. This year, the event will be held from September 5 to 10.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be a lot bolder than its predecessor in terms of specs and hardware. SVP of Samsung?s Product Strategy Team Yoon Han-Kil commented that their ultimate goal is to make products that consumers would always aspire to have. Having said that, the Note 4 is rumored to come with a 5.9-inch, 2560 x 1440 resolution, WQHD display. It will potentially result to a stunningly crisp display as compared to the Note 3?s 5.7-inch screen.
Although still unconfirmed, the Galaxy Note 4 may potentially dethrone its previous generation?s RAM capacity with its rumored 4GB RAM powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. A 20.7-megapixel rear camera with ISOCELL sensor, 5K video recording ability, and F2.2 31mm lens along with a 5-megapixel front camera are predicted to be included in the new phablet model.
Meanwhile, a potential Galaxy Gear 3 may also be introduced in the IFA event. However, the release of this device is more inconclusive than that of the Galaxy Note 4. There are many rumors circulating in the tech world that the new wearable device by Samsung would be called Galaxy Gear Solo, which is said to be a SIM-enabled version of the Gear 2. Other sources claim that it would not be a watch, but a version of the so-called ?Gear Glass? as it is previously reported that Samsung is supposedly working with Facebook-owned Oculus to produce a virtual reality headgear.
