Android 4.4 Update Notes
Not every device on the list went smoothly on Android 4.4 firmware update, especially in the case of Galaxy S3. According to the internal document, Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Android KitKat update has been cancelled due to unsolved problems.
Galaxy S3 GT-I9305 official update is now available from the United States network carrier, Sprint, which matches the expected rollout schedule. Other notes include Galaxy Note 2 LTE GT-N7105 and Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I919 updates awaiting approval from the Firmware Centre and Galaxy Note 3 Neo SM-N750 update awaiting certification from Google.
Galaxy S3 Notes
SamMobile tipster revealed that Samsung faces some issues regarding TouchWiz applications for Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 running Android 4.4 KitKat firmware. A screenshot noted that the kernel status, CPU and GPU drivers, radio and Android system are ready and running but failure on apps implement and system status.
This is not the first time Galaxy S3 encountered such issue. If you recall, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, both users in the United States and United Kingdom suffered multiple bugs and problems scaling from update process to huge battery drain. Hopefully, Samsung can find a workaround just like what they did on the last major update.
