RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 2, in and off itself, is a drama-filled production. Bickering drag queens, high pressure challenges, and the judges? constant scrutiny all make for riveting reality television. But now there?s an actual Rupaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 2 controversy!
But for this season of RuPaul?s Drag Race All Stars, one added twist that has given the show even more drama to work with is the ongoing online feud between one of its contestants, PhiPhi O? Hara, the show?s producers, and even RuPaul herself.
The online media back and forth between PhiPhi and the producers has provided a lot fo drama for the fans thirsty for it. PhiPhi opened fire by alleging that the producers had manipulated the editing to make it appear that Alyssa Edwards was receiving favorable feedback that was meant for Detox. The show producers then fired back by uploading the full video of Alyssa?s critiques, showing that this was not the case.
While that was already enough to get viewers gagging, RuPaul threw her hat into the mix by tweeting out an image of Jessica Rabbit with her most famous line of dialogue: ?I?m not bad – I?m just drawn that way.? RuPaul?s caption for the image was simply ?Oh, ok.?
Fans of the show, of course, immediately took it as shade against PhiPhi O? Hara and her allegation that she was being given the villain edit this season, in much the same way during RuPaul?s Drag Race Season 4. On Reddit, fans were generally in agreement with Ru, although there were some voices of dissent. User Zjmw remarked that ?Ru didn?t need to do this. Not cool.? User mobydickins said ?Wish Ru would just stay neutral. Now, everyone might not hold back coming for Phi Phi. Ru shading her kinda gives the green light to attack Phi Phi.?
Whatever the case, it looks like the tweet has had its intended effect, as PhiPhi O? Hara has declared that she would not be attending the RuPaul?s Drag Race All Stars Season 2 reunion. In a tweet, she said ?I have decided that I am not attending the RuPaul?s Drag Race Reunion. I don?t feel the show, producers or host have the best intention for me.?
