Ronda Rousey has been out of competition for pretty long while. She last stepped in the Octagon amidst bright lights on November 15, 2015. This was her last fight against Holly Holm where she suffered a second round knockout loss. The first round too was not even that close. She was dominated. That night, she lost her title and her undefeated record. It is not only those, however. She also lost that mystique surrounding her and maybe, some market value.
Ronda Rousey though is a competitor and had ups and downs through her life. Many believe that unlike Gina Carano, the previous face of women?s MMA, Rousey will make a comeback. One of those people who believe that this is so is no other than UFC president Dana White.
Ronda Rousey to return before the year ends?
In an interview with Brazilian media, Combate, White was quoted as saying that there is a great chance of Ronda Rousey coming back to face Amanda Nunes.
Amanda ?The Lioness? Nunes is the newly minted UFC Women?s Bantamweight champion. She took the belt from long-time Rousey rival Miesha Tate with an impressive first round submission at the UFC 200.
White did not just say that there is a great chance of Ronda Rousey coming back to fight Amanda Nunes. He added that he is very confident that Rousey will likely fight before the end of the year.
Another possible fight for Ronda Rousey would be the fight that everybody sane wants to see. It is Rousey vs. Cyborg Justino. One glaring problem is if Cyborg will make 135-lbs. It is well known that this is a big issue for her.
Many question if Rousey is physically and mentally ready to make a comeback. Rousey?s boyfriend and UFC heavyweight Travis Browne has said that she is, according to UPROXX. In the fan photo below, she seems in a good mood and in a good shape.
