Reddit users began mulling over an image of UFC star Ronda Rousey sitting on the ground with her feet showing a mix of bright yellow and purple. This would begin a debate about the status of Rousey?s health and whether or not the UFC used steroids for the match against Holly Holm. Here are some of the theories for Rousey?s feet discoloration:
One common reason for this type of discoloration on the feet which is common among athletes is jaundice. Jaundice, which causes a yellow pigmentation on the skin, is also an effect of using steroids for a long duration.
So with Rousey?s feet color displaying a bright yellow, a lot of people have suspected the UFC fighter of using steroids. But American mixed martial artist Julie Kedzie is quick to deny these allegations of steroid use, saying that she also often had a yellow color on her feet she didn?t ever use steroids.

She added that she would ?scrub the s?t? out of her feet just to remove the color after about because ?they got yellow as hell.?
Rousey?s discoloration of the feet, after the knockout, may have been suspected as a form of Raynaud?s phenomenon. ?Raynaud?s (ray-NOHZ) disease causes some areas of your body ? such as your fingers and toes ? to feel numb and cold in response to cold temperature or stress,? explained by the Mayo Clinic.
?In Raynaud?s disease, smaller arteries that supply blood to your skin narrow, limiting blood circulation to affected areas (vasospasm).? Most condition of Reynaud?s are harmless, but according to a report, in severe cases, ?a loss of blood flow can permanently damage the tissue and even lead to gangrene.?
Other theories include:
- Circulation issues
- UFC Fighters apply a resin to their feet for grip, and it can develop a yellow tinge on the sole.
- Weight loss and dehydration taking a toll on the body
- Dirty floors
- The photograph just has a yellow hue
