According to Fortune, ?a?few years after MGM partnered with Ubisoft to develop the game Rocky for Playstation 2, GameCube and Xbox, the team eyed the producers from Tapinator to create a free-to-play version of the boxing game for mobile devices.
The team behind MGM had teamed up with Tapinator to deliver a new version of ?boxing game. They planned to resemble an arcade style of setup than the usual boxing simulation game. This resulted to the hybrid sport game that we are enjoying now.

With regards to the game play and other add ons to the app, the official website for the Rocky mobile game states that the app has?an ?awesome time-tap fight mechanic.? This means players have to tap and swipe along with the icons on the screen in order to perform an action accordingly.
The game will also include multiplayer fights, fighter collection system and tournaments for more diverse options that the gamers can enjoy. Furthermore, players can battle it out with other players all across the globe. You can send and receive battles and challenges and see who is the top boxer of all.
As for the movie fans of this Oscar winning franchise, they can feel the nostalgia as they are able to collect fighters such as Rocky Balboa, Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago in the game. They can also experience the legendary bouts between Rocky vs Apollo, Rocky vs Clubber, and Rocky vs Drago as they progress along this game.
