Jughead Jones may have been a wallflower at the start. But as Riverdale dived deeper into its pilot season, the focus of the show has shifted to his character, solving his mystery piece by piece. One thing we learned about him in the past episodes is that he has a sister named Jellybean. We haven’t met the girl yet but we’re pretty sure she’ll be making an introduction in Riverdale Season 2. But who is going to portray her? Well, fans have thoughts.
Warning: Potential spoilers ahead!
Jellybean Jones and her mom are currently living with their grandparents in another town. Jughead describes her as a girl who “listens to Pink Floyd on vinyl.” There isn’t known much known aside from that but eagle-eyed fans recalled she actually already appeared in the show rocking a big bow and adorable smile via a “throwback photo” when Juggy was leaving the Twilight Drive-In for the last time.
Now, fans have someone in mind who could play Jellybean in the show: Rowan Blanchard.
“Does anyone else think that Rowan Blanchard from the recently defunct Girl Meets World would make a good Jellybean?” Reddit user unicornstakingover says. “I kinda see the resemblance to Cole and it would be cute to see another former Disney star play Jughead’s little sister.”
Rowan is best known for her role as Riley Matthews on the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World which aired from 2014 until its cancellation this year. The actress doesn’t have much on her hands right now aside from a recurring role on ABC’s The Goldbergs. Her only project outside of TV is an upcoming adventure film, Wrinkle of Time, which is already in post-production. This suggests she could play the character, schedule-wise.

However, some people doubt she may land the role due to her age. While Rowan does have that pre-teen look, she is already 15 and from what we know, Jellybean is only 10 years old in the show. Still, it’s worth noting that most of the main cast are also older than their characters in real life. As another Redditor points out: “Nobody in Riverdale seems to be under 16.” Cole Sprouse, for example, is already 24 years old but he plays the role of a 17-year-old sophomore.
Then again, nothing is confirmed yet so we’ll have to wait and see. Production for Riverdale Season 2 is starting today so we’ll likely get a casting announcement sooner than later.
