Microsoft has just released the new trailer for Blood Ties, a new DLC for Rise of the Tomb Raider. And yes. It features zombies.
This new story-based mission allows players to explore the old and derelict Croft Manor. In the wake of her father?s death, Lara?s ownership of the manor is being challenged by her own uncle. Lara is determined to prove that she is the manor?s rightful heir and reclaim her legacy. However, she must first confront her past head on.
Players must endure Lara?s worst nightmare as her childhood home gets run over by zombies. This new game mode can be experienced in virtual reality or in standard third person perspective. The DLC includes ?Lara?s Nightmare? mode where Lara tries to get rid of the horde of zombies roaming her childhood home.
Players get to explore the brutal wilderness together with the new online multiplayer co-op ?Endurance Mode?. In this game mode, two players will need to buddy-up in order to survive the wild?s harsh elements by day and lethal threats by night. Resources such as fuel to make light, food to restore health and other supplies must be collected, hunted or crafted. Players also get a chance to beat other player?s survival run on the leaderboard.
Also included in the DLC are five classic Lara Croft skins and outfits. Part of these gears is the reimagined outfit that pays tribute to Lara?s trip to Antarctica in Tomb Raider 3. Hardcore players will be given an option to play the game in ?Extreme Survivor? setting. In this setting, save points will be severely limited, as well as craft items, resources, ammunition, and health.
Those who want to get their hands on some collector?s items can buy the Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration. This game version includes all the previously released downloadable contents. This include Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, Cold Darkness Awakened and the new Blood Ties. Players will also get 12 outfits, 7 weapons, and 35 expedition cards.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is available on PS4, Xbox, and PC. The DLC will be released on Oct. 11.
