The U.S. basketball teams, both men and women, have landed in Rio de Janeiro Tuesday ahead of the Friday night kickoff of the 2016 Summer Olympics.

In Brazil, highly paid and highly popular NBA stars of the U.S. men?s (and women’s) basketball team will be taking up residence in a luxury cruise ship moored on the Port of Rio. The move could be interpreted as indulgent or prescient as the players have shunned the shared bedrooms of the Olympic Village to live on ?The Silver Cloud,? a mammoth 196-cabin, 400-person capacity luxury cruise ship docked in Rio’s Maua Port Terminal for the duration of the games.

The NBA players will have a host of shops and a spa at their disposal and extended beds have been installed to allow the players, including some who stand at almost 7-ft tall, to sleep comfortably.

Also, there will be extreme security for players aboard the ship as a fence made of bulletproof material will keep the public away from the U.S. athletes, who will be guarded by some 250 Federal Police officers.

The USA Dream Team will try to take home its third consecutive gold medal when the Games kick off with Saturday night?s China vs. USA match at the Carioca Arena 1. In 18 Summer Olympics games since basketball became an Olympic sport in 1936, the United States has won the gold medal 14 times, including five times in the last six Olympics. The U.S. is once again hot favorites to dominate the Rio Olympics sitting really big at -1600 betting odds to win the gold.

USA Dream Team Roster and Schedule:

The Americans are once again taking a star-laden squad to this year?s Olympic tournament with the newest member of the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant, being the hottest star to feature on the USA Dream Team.
