Barbadian singer Rihanna hasn?t revealed any details about her upcoming album called ?Anti? but she has announced details about her world tour, which will kick off in February 26th at San Diego’s Viejas Arena. The tour will circle North America for 3 months before RiRi heads to Europe for a two-month trek.
Rihanna’s opening act throughout the North American leg will be Travis Scott while? The Weeknd?and?Big Sean?will accompany her in Europe.
“I have so many songs I love ? and they’re so different ? that it’s hard to actually put them all on the same album,” Rihanna said in an interview with NME about the Kanye West-executive produced LP.
Between 2005 and 2012, Rihanna released or re-released at least one album a year. Then 2013 rolled around without a Rihanna album, which makes ?Anti? that much-awaited.
The singer hasn’t been completely out of the scene and released three singles ??”FourFiveSeconds,”?”Bitch Better Have My Money,”?and?”American Oxygen” in the past year but it’s unclear whether these will appear on Anti.
Charli XCX? also worked with Rihanna on her upcoming album. “Charli’s just completely cool, so secure and non-calculating, and completely unaware of her surroundings,” Rihanna told?Rolling Stone. “She’s just so free. It’s pure. I love it. I love?her.”
Rihanna?also revealed the cover of her eighth album at a Los Angeles art gallery. The original painting by artist Roy Nachum depicts the singer as a child, with a golden crown covering her eyes as a message written in braille.
“He sees things beyond the surface, which is why we even decided to collaborate,” Rihanna said of the artist. “It felt like there was another spirit, another layer to the art. After we met, we talked about what I wanted visually, what would make me the happiest girl in the world. This is my favorite album cover ever.?
“This is me as a little girl,” she said of the image of the child. “I brought this one to him and he really reinterpreted it his own way with exactly the message that I wanted.”
?The crown over the eyes is a symbol for the music,” Nachum told?Rolling Stone. “Here, I painted the young Rihanna bringing something new. She saw my work and I got a phone call that she wanted to collaborate on the cover to her album.”
Anti?World Tour tickets? general on-sale date is scheduled for December 3.
