Fans hoping for Rick and Morty season 3 release date update are in for a disappointment. Earlier this year, co-creator Dan Harmon teased a December premiere for Adult Swim?s popular animation series. With still no teaser trailer out yet, a 2016 air date seems unlikely at this point.
Redditor PopDavid, who claims to work for Rick and Morty as a design assistant, also hinted the same.??They just finished writing all the scripts last week (as per a tweet by writer Dan Guterman) and only have full animation for one episode (as per another tweet by Guterman). Given that information, it should be pretty clear that any air date for this year is a long shot.?
Last month, Harmon failed to provide a concrete release date for Rick and Morty telling fans at Reddit AMA, ?I’m not authorized to give you an airdate for season 3.?
While Harmon didn?t provide a specific release date for Rick and Morty Season 3, he did say, ?we are going as fast as we can my brother.??This means the production is still not close to finishing so obviously, episode 1 won?t hit its promised 2016 premiere target. Speculations, however, suggest creators are planning a surprise premiere of the much beloved show. Of course, doubts as to the surprise premiere remain and it is certain the show won?t start this year.
Rick and Morty Premieres April 2017?
Rick and Morty season 3 is obviously targeted to be released in 2017. Mr. Poopy Butthole?s admission that new episodes of Rick and Morty wouldn?t arrive until March 2017 seems closer to truth.
?Tune into Rick and Morty Season 3 in like? a year and a half? or longer, to see how we unravel this mess,? he said at the end of the season 2 finale.
Despite the prediction, an early 2017 release remains on the books. Rick and Morty has always been known for its unconventional nature. The showrunners won?t hesitate from springing a surprise and release the show early in January. Hopefully, we all get lucky and we?ll be soon tuning into episode 1 of Rick and Morty season 3 in just a few weeks time.
