For people who have not played the Eye of Judgment for awhile it’s time to assemble your stand and dust off your cards. With the new Biolith Rebellion 3 expansion pack you have additional in-depth storylines for each of the four elements and decks from all three sets. These features are easily accessible from the main menu. The new cards give players amazing new creatures with enhanced abilities and attack options that allow you to submerge yourself in additional modes of game play. Keep in mind, you still have to register every single card with your Playstation Eye, easily downloadable from the PLAYSTATION(R) Network and purchase additional booster packs from you local game store. For those of you who have not played the Eye of Judgment, it is similar to card games like Magic, Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh. Same game concept only better.
With the use of manna the cards used to play the game allow the creatures and spells to be brought to life. The object of the game is to take control of the board. With the three new pieces of DLC which equates to 310 cards in total adds not only variety but allows you to fully customize your deck of cards and pummel people online and offline. With trophies just being added.
The sound, unfortunately, is just about the same. The game is still narrated by this “wanna-be” James Hetfield, the lead singer of Metallica. This cheesy heavy metal voice that’s way too intense, for instructions that will be heard over and over again. But with some of the new cards some of the creatures make different noises every other time you use the card which is a nice change. But still very repetitive. Another issue is the Playstation Eye. It only works in a well lit room.
Graphics is where this game shines once again! Everything from the fantastic intro to all the animations on monsters, playing fields and attacks are done extremely well by being rendered up to 1080i and 720p With 100 additional character and spell cards and more than 20 new Abilities, Biolith Rebellion 3 lets players change the affiliation of their cards, counter attacks and being able to view the cards in their Opponent’s hand. This is a successful game for those that enjoy card games, kicking it up a notch, getting it off the table an putting it into a console game.
