Resident Evil 7 is arguably one of the best entries in Capcom’s survival horror series. Capcom isn’t finished with the game yet as there are free DLCs along the way. The first one Capcom will bring is the Resident Evil 7 Not A Hero DLC and there are new gameplay details regarding the extra content focusing on Chris Redfield.

DLC Delay

Capcom recently announced that the Resident Evil 7 Not A Hero DLC won’t come this Spring anymore. No exact release date has been given yet but the delay is already confirmed. According to Capcom, they felt like their work on the DLC is not enough after the amazing reception of Resident Evil 7, and that is why they want to work on it more.

New Details

A report by Famitsu reveals more details about the Resident Evil 7 Not A Hero DLC in light of the delay. These are some exciting details regarding the DLC and it should be enough to inform fans of what they could expect with Chris Redfield’s chapter in Resident Evil 7.

Not A Hero DLC is a short scenario that depicts the success of Chris Redfield. In the DLC, Redfield is tasked with securing a certain person. The DLC is also set to connect Resident Evil 7 to the rest of the Resident Evil titles.

Capcom also stated a confrontation between old and new characters. It’s still unclear whether Capcom literally meant that the DLC will include a confrontation between Ethan Winters and Chris. Aside from these, no other details have been revealed about the DLC’s storyline.

When it comes to gameplay, Chris will play differently from Ethan and he’s going to be better equipped than Resident Evil 7’s main star. One of the key differences is that Chris will be wearing a special gear that also alters the HUD for players. Players will be able to see the ammo that Chris has in the heads up display. The display also reveals some status effects for Chris.

Another gameplay difference between the two is that Chris will have access to other special items. One of these is an oxygen tank that when installed, will allow Chris to work freely in harsh environments. Chris’ main weapon in the game is handgun called Albert.W. Model 01. It’s yet to be known if this weapon is the same as the unlockable Albert 01 handgun in the main game which can kill foes in a single shot.

For now, it looks like Chris will indeed have a more action-oriented gameplay as compared to Ethan. A prior leak revealed that a new molded type that spews toxic gas will be included in the DLC. As stated in the same leak, Chris can punch his foes.
