The series must be coming to an end soon as news about the ReLife live action movie adaptation has surfaced. The said live action movie started filming this month and is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on April 15, 2017. It was also reported that the 2017 movie will have its own original ending. Exciting right?
It was announced on ReLife?s official website that actor Mahiro Takasugi (P to JK) will play Kazuomi Oga, one of Kaizaki?s classmates and the love interest of Kariu Rena.
Also joining the cast of ReLife live action movie is Taishi Nakagawa (Prison School), who will play the lead, Arata Kaizaki. Meanwhile, actress Yuna Taira (Aozora Yell) will play Chizuru Hishiro, the lead female. Set to direct this film is Takeshi Furusawa, who is known for his works in Another and Clover.
ReLife is a fully colored webcomic on Comico, written by So Yayoi. It is a story about 27-year old, unemployed, Kaizaki Arata. After quitting his job, he had a hard time passing job interviews. This led him to meet Yaoke Ryou of the ReLife Program Institute. Arata was offered a drug that changed his appearance into a 17 -year old boy and become a subject of the ReLife experiment. He begins his life as a high school student once more. While back in high school, he meets new friends and falls in love with a girl named Chizuru Hishiro.
The manga was first published on Comico in October 12, 2013. Recently, 13 episodes of the anime adaptation was released online on Crunchyroll last July 1, 2016. The manga series is ongoing and is now on its 152nd chapter.
