The sequel to Red Dead Redemption might be released soon. Rumors suggest that Red Dead Redemption 2 is already in development at Rockstar Games studio, and the game may arrive in 2017. If the reports are true, Rockstar?s Wild West game will be one of the biggest releases next year.

Although there?s no official statement from Rockstar Games about the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date, the website Frag Hero claims that their reader has received an email from an ex-Rockstar employee who said that the game has been under development for more than four years. The source stated that the next Read Dead Redemption game will be called Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West.

According to the email, the game will feature more than one playable character, and the open-world experience will be larger than the original Red Dead Redemption title. It should be noted that Rockstar has already introduced multiple playable characters in GTA V.

The ex-Rockstar employee also claimed in his email that the developer will announce the game at E3 2016, and the announcement will confirm the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date in fall 2017. The source also claimed that Rockstar Games is working on an HD remaster of the Red Dead Redemption game. According to the leak, the Red Dead Redemption HD remaster will be available for next-gen consoles by the end of 2016.

In an interview with MCV, Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke about the company?s presence in E3 2016. ?We will be there in a big way,? he said. Battleborn is coming in May, and Mafia 3 doesn?t have a release date yet, so they can be the focus of the company at E3 this year. Neither Rockstar Games nor Take Two have denied or confirmed this.

However, it is unknown if the source is really privy to such information on the Red Dead Redemption sequel and if the details in the email are really accurate. Therefore, it is better to take the rumors on the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date with a grain of salt.
