One of the most anticipated titles set to release within the next few years is Rockstar’s sequel to the instant classic, Red Dead Redemption. New details have been revealed about the sequel including the delayed release date. Aside from that, new screenshots have been released and it reveals just who might be the star of Red Dead Redemption 2.
A lot of screenshots for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been released and while the images themselves don’t reveal much about the game, a few fans have managed to deduce a few things about the sequel. Redditor JagerGSG9 speculates that despite the rumors, the upcoming sequel will have one protagonist only.
Out of all the new screenshots revealed, it seem like Rockstar is focusing on one particular character only. We’ve yet to get a full glimpse of the character but he dons a few pieces of clothing that make him easier to distinguish when in a group. Whenever he’s part of the screenshot, the character feels like he’s the main focus of it.
Moreover, a few players pointed out that the star of the screenshots look very familiar to the central character seen in the first teaser trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2. This does not confirm anything as of the moment but a single protagonist looks pretty likely at this point.
The reason behind why fans initially thought that the sequel is going to have several protagonist is mainly because of Grand Theft Auto 5. In the most recent entry in the series, players get to control three different characters, each with their own personalities and special abilities.
It was a new formula introduced in the Grand Theft Auto franchise but it was one that sit well with fans. Even better is that players are given the option to switch to any character whenever they want while free roaming. In some missions, players will have to make use of the several characters for a better chance at succeeding.
Rockstar is yet to reveal most of the gameplay details regarding Red Dead Redemption 2 and at this rate, we might have to wait a while longer. Rockstar recently revealed that the game has been delayed to Spring 2018. An E3 2017 appearance from the game shouldn’t be out of the question though as Rockstar could have a few reveals at the said event.
