Although still halfway from reaching the Kickstarter?goal, Comcept announced that Red Ash can now continue its development ? with a publisher fully backing the project. Fuze Entertainment, a game publisher in China, will be funding the said game. What?s also great is that Red Ash?s developer; Comcept will still retain its rights for the game, including full creative control.
With the announcement of the game being fully funded, Red Ash will also be getting a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One port.
Along with the game, the planned Red Ash -Magicicada- animation is also having a campaign and is already at USD 110,000 out of the USD 150,000 goal. The animation will be handled by Japanese animation studio STUDIO4?; the team behind the animated movies Steamboy, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and series like Transformers Animated and the 2011 Thundercats.
Red Ash Gets Support
Red Ash: The KalKanon Incident is the latest project by Megaman creator Keiji Inafune, it is the spiritual successor to the classic Megaman Legends third person action game for the PlayStation. Previously, Inafune launched a Kickstarter campaign for Mighty No. 9; a successor to his Megaman franchise after he left Capcom in 2011, the Mighty No. 9 campaign reached USD 3.8 million from its thousands of backers and has become the fifth highest Kickstarter funded video game.
Red Ash?s campaign is almost at USD 500,000, more than halfway from its USD 800,000 goal with only four days left. It is still unsure if the campaign will be successful but Comcept has assured that the development of the game will still push through even if they did not reach the target goal. However if the campaign did get funded, it will be used as contributions to the game?s additional content and new stretch goals, Comcept will post the new list of stretch goals at the soonest time as they are still being occupied with more internal works due to the recent announcement.
Red Ash: The KalKanon Incident will soon be available for the PC and to the PS4 & Xbox One consoles.
