Developer Tammeka has been focusing lately on their Kickstarter campaign for their sci-fi racing game, Radial-G. With less than 10 days to go before the deadline, it seems the project will not be able to achieve its target of ?50,000. They need ?26,000 more to get their project going.
But it seems that they are determined not to give up yet. In what appears to be the project?s last saving grace, the team is going to advertise Radial-G in a major NASCAR event in the U.S. this weekend with the hopes of filling in the budget they lack. In a popular race event with thousands in attendance, Tammeka is seeking wide exposure for their game and it may have just come at the most appropriate time.
Tammeka Games told VRFocus that they will be advertising Radial-G at the Brickyard 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup that will be taking place this weekend on the 24th to 27th of July. The game will be receiving a 15-second advertisement that will feature some gameplay footage and a push for its Kickstarter campaign. The ad will be shown across different screens in the venue throughout the duration of the four-day event.
This timely effort might as well be the game?s last chance to gain support from the public. If all ends well, the game will be released on the PC, Mac, and Linux in November. The developers also plan to expand to the iOS and Android platforms in early 2015.
Radial-G is a futuristic high-speed racing game that will surely pump up your adrenaline. Players ride their futuristic ships (not cars) and race in tubular circuits with up to 32 players. The game is able to support both 2D monitors and the Oculus Rift headset on the PC, Mac, and Linux. Meanwhile, the developers also hope to bring Project Morpheus VR headset support for the PlayStation 4.
