Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Revealed at CES 2017, Upcoming Processor Expected to Power the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8

Qualcomm has quickly become the top dog when it comes to making powerful mobile processors. Its Snapdragon 820 chipsets were featured in last year?s major flagship smartphones such as the LG G5 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. This year, the company is poised to enjoy the same honor once more. This is because the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor is expected to be the top mobile processor around.

While the Galaxy S8, the LG G6 and the other major smartphones have not yet been unveiled, the tiny chip that will power them has just been revealed. During the Consumer Entertainment Show (CES) 2017 this week, Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 835 processor.

While the Snapdragon 820 and 821 chipsets are already pretty powerful, the Snapdragon 835 is surely going to be at an entirely different level. According to Tech Radar, the Snapdragon 835 combines the power of the company?s Kyro 280 CPU and Hexagon 682 DSP. This is in addition to using the Qualcomm Adreno 540 GPU for 3D graphics and VR features.

Another excellent feature of the upcoming processor is the addition of the Spectra 180 image sensors. This is particularly advantageous given that more and more smartphone manufacturers are opting to go with dual camera systems.

The brand new chipset is likewise going to feature Qualcomm?s QuickCharge 4.0. It is said to be capable of charging smartphones up to 20% faster than other processors.
