The Netflix?s Marvel Cinematic Universe is already moving with quite a pace and lately a teaser hinted that the Daredevil spinoff, The Punisher, may land sooner than expected.

Netflix revealed in July their production schedule for their upcoming Marvel shows, and they confirmed that only Iron Fist and Defenders would be released in 2017. At that time, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said Jessica Jones Season 2, The Punisher and Daredevil Season 3 wouldn’t be coming until at least 2018.

However, a new landing page in the Netflix app on mobile has lead to speculations of Jon Bernthal?s return as Frank Castle aka The Punisher likely happening in 2017, a year earlier than Netflix promised.

The landing page lists the title, and a very basic logline: ?After the murder of his family, Frank Castle is both haunted and hunted. In the criminal underworld, he’ll become known as The Punisher.?

Though the release date is clearly not mentioned, people are speculating since in the past, Netflix has only been known to post these landing pages when the show is about a year out. If Netflix follows a similar pattern, then The Punisher could surely be launched in 2017.

However, fans should not get all too eager as a 2017 release date may not be a certainty for The Punisher. Netflix may have simply added the landing page to attract more subscribers and keep their existing subscriber base interested.

Moreover, Netflix has kept its Marvel shows to a bare minimum of two a year. While Daredevil and Jessica Jones premiere seasons were released a year earlier in 2015, this year saw the release of Daredevil Season 2 and another upcoming, the all-new Luke Cage.

Luke Cage is spin-off series from Jessica Jones and will later be joining Netflix?s Defenders along with Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Daredevil next year. There is a slight possibility that since the path of these superheroes cross-over so often, we may see Frank Castle in one of these shows before his solo debut.

For now, Netflix?s Luke Cage is next up on September 30, 2016.
