Sony?s PlayStation NEO (PS4.5 NEO) is in the rumors for quite a while now. Although the company has confirmed that PS NEO?will be its new gaming console, the company has remained silent about its specs and release date. However, the rumors circulating around the PS Neo suggest that the new console would be much better than the current PlayStation 4.

PlayStation NEO is expected to have an octa-core Jaguar CPU that will boost the processing speed up to 2.1 GHz. The current CPU of PS4 offers the maximum speed of 1.6 GHz. Like Microsoft Scorpio, PS4.5 NEO will support 4K gaming and PlayStation Virtual Reality (PSVR) headset. An improved AMD GCN with 36 CUs will allow PS4 to achieve higher running rate of 911 MHz. Moreover, the memory unit will also receive an upgrade, 8GB GDDR5 RAM is expected in PS NEO.

Furthermore, the hard drive will be different to that in the PS4, but it’s not yet clear whether it will be bigger in capacity or have a better type of hard disk. The new PS NEO could have faster Wi-Fi connectivity. So, there is no doubt that PS4.5 NEO?will take the gaming experience to higher levels. It is going to offer a tough challenge to its rival Microsoft Xbox Scorpio.

According to PC Advisor, the new games by Sony will be released for both platforms, PS4 and PS4.5 NEO. It means that new console?is not going to replace PS4. PlayStation Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed this statement. The PS4 customers should not worry that the launch of PS NEO will shift the company?s focus on the new gaming console.

“PS4 is PS4” Yoshida said. “The new high-end PS4 is still PS4, so you know the life-cycle is not going to be shorter.”

The rumors suggest that the company has started the production of PS NEO. It is expected to roll out in September this year, most probably during Tokyo Games Show on 15 September. PS NEO is expected to carry a $399 price tag. TheBitBag team would like to recommend that readers take this information with a grain of salt and wait for official statement from the company.
