Sony has announced the PS4 4.00 update, something that will add a lot of new features to the PS4. The update will allow players to put games in folders to make the PS4 menu look cleaner and also add more options to the sub-menus. It’s something fans have wanted for sometime, but it looks like there is more to it than meets the eye.
According to this Reddit user, it seems like there are more options than those the PlayStation Blog has announced. Games will now have a privacy function, so other players won’t know what the gamer is playing. This is a fun option when playing a guilty pleasure-type title like a Dynasty Warrior-style experience or any unoriginal game.
The PS4 4.00 update also allows players to livestream their gaming experiences in 60 fps. This ensures that the player’s gameplay looks great on YouTube, Twitch and Daily Motion, which is a great option for those who like to show off or help others via in-game videos.
Other improvements include the increased length of Game DVR, which now reaches a full hour, the players? ability to reply to original comments in the PlayStation Community, and post picture comments. The color of the notification box has also been changed from black to white, which isn’t a big deal, so it’s a minor change at best.
Add the other improvements that were announced by Sony and it seems like this is the biggest update the current-gen console has ever gotten. It’s not yet clear when it will arrive, but it should be a good time when it does. It’s not like the PS4 was in any major trouble, since most people still consider it the no. 1 console out right now.
The PS4 4.00 update will supposedly come out in the coming weeks, so fans won’t have to wait too long to enjoy the new features. This might not be a big deal to some, but having these options is nice, since it allows players to be more organized and enjoy privacy.
