PS2-on-PS4 New Games: Legaia 2 and Ape Escape 2 Coming Soon

Sony has been slowly working on their PS2-on-PS4 games library and has re-released some great titles. Dark Cloud 2, Psychonauts and Bully are just some of the quality games that can currently be repurchased on the PS4, and it seems like more are coming. Legaia 2: Duel Saga and Ape Escape 2 are the next PS2 games coming to the current-gen console of Sony.

According to Gematsu, Ape Escape 2 is available now for Europe and could come to the American PSN store later this week. The sequel to the ridiculously addictive PSOne platformer improved on what made the first game a big hit, with better graphics, bigger locations and epic boss fights. Of course, there are also more apes to catch, which is never a problem.

The Ape Escape series has been dormant after the PS2 stopped being relevant, which is a big shame. The platformer was always fun to play, with colorful characters and a ton of imaginative levels. Here is hoping we see Ape Escape 3 as one of the next PS2-on-PS4 games released soon.

Dual Shockers confirmed that Legaia 2 has been rated and is scheduled for a European release, along with Wild Arms 3. Since Wild Arms 3 is already available in the US PSN store, there is a very big chance that we will see Legaia 2 arrive in it as well. The sequel to the hit RPG from PSOne got decent reviews and still has a solid fanbase to this day.

Ape Escape 2 is coming to the PS4!

Like Ape Escape, we haven’t seen the Legend of Legaia series do much since the second game. That could always change if the PS2 game sells well, but that’s a bit of a stretch. The RPG series always had a unique battle system and would be a prime candidate for a remake or a reboot in the future.

These PS2-on-PS4 games should be available worldwide soon. Ape Escape 2 is already playable for those with a Region 2 account, while Legaia 2 hasn’t been released yet, so that should take a bit longer. It will be interesting to see what other PS2 games will be coming to the PS4 in the near future.
