PS Vita update 3.15 enhances PS4 Remote Play and second screen connectivity

Sony rolled out an update 3.15 (including 3.12 and 3.10) for the PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) today, which enhances PS4 Remote Play and second screen connectivity.?

A PS Vita system software update is required to use PSN features and some features on the system. This update will include the latest security patches, new and revised applications, and features and settings.

In the official press release of Sony Computer Entertainment America, LLC (SCEA), the company announced that aside from system software update version 1.70 for PlayStation 4 (PS4) this April 30, the PS Vita system will also receive a system software update to version 3.15. The update will strengthen the connectivity and integration between the PS Vita and PS4 systems.

The update will enable Automatic Device Registration which allows automatic pairing of devices when both systems are online and the same user is signed in to both. This means easier link between PS Vita system and a PS4 system for Remote Play and other second screen features.

Main Features of PS Vita system software update 3.15:

1. You can now perform device registration – also known as pairing – for Remote Play via the Internet. When registering a device via the Internet, registration is performed automatically. You do not have to enter any numbers for registration. On the PlayStation 4 system’s function screen, you must select [Settings] > [PSN] > [Activate as Your Primary PS4] > [Activate] in advance.
2. Button assignments for Remote Play have been changed.
3. To verify button assignments, press the PS button, and then select [Button Guide] in the toolbar that is displayed.
4. [Settings] has been added to the toolbar that is displayed when you press the PS button while using remote play. You can adjust whether feedback is shown on the screen when you touch the touchscreen or the rear touch pad.

To be able to avail of these features, the system software of the PS4 system must be version 1.70 or later.

On the other hand, Sony announced today the release of system software update version 1.70 for PlayStation 4 (PS4) system.
