Sony has announced that Broforce won in the poll for the PS Plus free games for March 2016. The 2D side-scrolling shooter won over competitors Action Henk and Assault Android Cactus with over 50 percent of the votes dedicated to it.
Sony will give Action Henk and Assault Android Cactus a 30% discount for PS Plus owners in March, according to PlayStation Lifestyle. The company did the same thing to the runner ups last year when Grow Home won the vote.
The news was officially confirmed by Sony Europe on Twitter. So far, Broforce is the only known PS Plus free game for March 2016, until Sony reveals the official list, which is likely to come out later this week, since February is almost over.
What the other games will be is a complete mystery. Some fans are hoping for a quality title, while most are expecting it to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, which has proven to be the case in recent years.
PS4-exclusive Helldivers is currently one of the free games available to PS Plus users. The top-down shooter fits the bill as both a quality title and a PS4-exclusive, as it received plenty of rave reviews when it was released. It will be interesting to see what title Sony is planning to release next month.
Fans still have time to pick up Helldivers and Nom Nom Galaxy while it?s still February. Come March 1, the new slate of games will replace the two space-themed titles with Broforce and another game, which hopefully will be of good quality.
Broforce is a 2D side-scrolling shooter packed to the brim with explosions and characters that look like 1980s movie icons. There are plenty of humorous ?bro? moments in the game, including muscle flexing and high fives, which should garner a chuckle or two from the player.
PS Plus bonuses aren?t just for current-gen owners, as a number of titles will also be announced for those with a PS3 and PS Vita. We?ll just have to wait and see what they are first, along with the PS Plus free games for March 2016.
