The PS Plus Free Games January 2018 roster reveals an exciting lineup to kickstart the new year. For the first month of 2018, PS Plus subscribers will be able to enjoy a range of titles to suit their different needs. This includes games that fall under the role-playing genre to entries that utilize Sony’s own virtual reality headset, the PlayStation VR.

PS Plus Free Games January 2018: What’s Up For Grabs?

First up, PlayStation 4 users will be able to get their hands on the action role-playing stealth video game Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Set in the year 2029, Mankind Divided shows itself in a cyberpunk-themed dystopian world that takes place two years following the events of its predecessor, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. With regard to the Deus Ex franchise as a whole, Mankind Divided is the sixth entry in the series.

Besides its interesting premise, Mankind Divided boasts of RPG (role playing game) elements with a mix of stealth and first-person action. Players take control of protagonist Adam Jensen who is tasked with capturing a terrorist group composed of augmented citizens.

Mankind Divided aside, the next game available for free is Batman: The Telltale Series. As with other Telltale titles, this Batman game involves players placing focus into their decisions within the game. This is due to a player’s decisions affecting the story in the long run. For January 2018, the first season of Batman: The Telltale Series is available free of charge. Its second season, Batman: The Enemy Within, was released in 2017.

PS VR, PS Vita, and PS3

For PS VR users, the PS Plus Free Games January 2018 list provides StarBlood Arena as an added bonus to your virtual reality needs. The arena combat game will be available for free for an extended period up to March.

Other titles for free include That’s You! (exclusive to Europe and Australia regions), as well as Uncanny Valley and Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness. The latter two are available for free for both the PS4 and PS Vita in the US. Take note, however, that Mandatory Happiness must be purchased separately for the PS4 and PS Vita. Unlike Uncanny Valley, Mandatory Happiness does not fall under the PS4’s Cross Buy system.

Fret not, as PS3 users are also included in the fun. For January 2018, hack-and-slash brawler Sacred 3 is available for free. Additionally, point-and-click adventure game The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is also available for the PS3 at no extra charge.
