PS Plus Free Games

Recently, Sony released their list of PS Plus Free Games for August. The upcoming lineup may excite PS3 and PS Vita users. However, PS4 users may have to wait for the following month if they want a free AAA game from PS Plus.

According to the Playstation Blog, PS4 players will exclusively receive Tricky Towers and Rebel Galaxy. While these two aren?t AAA games, they?re at least good indie titles. Rebel Galaxy has a ?Very Positive? review on Steam, and it makes for a good space exploration simulation practice before No Man?s Sky?s release. Meanwhile, Tricky Towers will arrive on the same day as the PC version. Any manic and competitive multiplayer game is welcome for most players, so this is definitely a good pick to try out at least.

Meanwhile, the PS3 PS Plus Free Games will be Yakuza 5 and Retro/Grade. Fortunately, the free Yakuza 5 will be able to introduce players to its story and gameplay before Yakuza 0?s release in January 2017, as confirmed in Playstation Blog. Yakuza 0 is a prequel to the main Yakuza series where players will play as the younger Kazuma Kiryu. Meanwhile, Retro/Grade mixes up gameplay of a shmup and a rhythm game with its space warfare setting. It also has a ?Very Positive? review on its Steam page, so it might be an enjoyable experience for players.

On the other hand, PS Vita will receive Patapon 3 and Ultratron. Patapon 3 is still the same old rhythm game on the PlayStation portable where you?ll lead a tribal army of Patapon using certain beats that translates to battle commands. However, this game is different from the previous entries as players will control three specialized Patapon and one Patapon hero in their battles instead of a large crowd of generic Patapon. Meanwhile, Ultratron is an indie twin stick shooter from Puppy Games which is set in small, controlled areas. Like most of the indie titles on PS Plus Free Games this August, Ultratron also has good reviews on its Steam page. Aside from PS Vita, the game will also be available for PS3 and PS4, as confirmed on the Playstation Blog announcement.
