Since last year?s announcement of the second part of the movie ?Prometheus?, no progress has been stated by Ridley Scott until a recent article in Total Film Magazine, which shared an announcement on the creation of the next movie. The mind-boggling movie everyone wanted to understand so desperately is soon going to have a second installment.
Ridley Scott is set to make the sequel to the critically-acclaimed movie, Prometheus, and is definitely expected on making it soon. Earlier posts from the Collider stated that Prometheus 2 had been given a release date of March 2016.
It was then unclear if Ridley Scott would be back to direct the movie. But now with the article from Total Film Magazine, we can expect that their plans have taken shape.
The director said he?s planning to shoot in January 2016. ?I?ve got back into the sci-fi thing, I kind of adore it,? Scott said in an Interview with Total Film. He also confirmed that the xenomorph will not be featured in the sequel anymore. Although the plot is still not disclosed, the film will focus more on the home planet of the engineers, the aliens introduced in the first film, according to the Guardian.
Alien 5 will also be taking place simultaneously with Prometheus 2 which will be directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9) and produced by Ridley Scott, the Guardian shared. The movie will take place after the events of Aliens, and Blomkamp has been secretive of the information on whether or not it will be related to the Prometheus, the Guardian added.
Prometheus 2 is set to continue the story of Elizabeth Shaw, played by Noomi Rapace, with support from the android David, played by Michael Fassbender. The original film also starred Guy Pierce, Idris Elba, Charlize Theron, and Logan Marshall-Green. It grossed over $403 million worldwide making it the highest grossing film for the ?Alien? franchise.
