Eight years after the season 4 finale, Prison Break is set to return for its season 5 in early 2017. Although the official release date for Fox?s highly popular revival drama series has yet to be announced. Anticipation meanwhile continues building as fans hope to catch the latest from Michael Scofield and company.
Prison Break Revival Release Date
The showrunners have not decided the exact air date for the Prison Break revival so far. However, it is confirmed that Prison Break season 5 will air in the Spring of 2017 on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET on FOX. Though no viable information about the season 5 premiere is available at present, rumors have a pretty good idea about the airing dates.

Earlier, one of the crew members hinted a March launch for Prison Break. Though nothing can be said for sure, a March release could happen on any of these dates: March 9, March 16, March 23, March 30. It is likely these dates falling on Thursday would be targeted by the showrunners.
Prison Break Plot
The last we saw of Michael Scofield was that he had died apparently trying to protect his brother and pregnant wife. However, with a new series unfolding, Scofield is apparently alive, but stuck in a Yemeni prison after getting involved with an ISIS-like terrorist group.
When Lincoln Burrows learns that his brother, Scofield, is alive from none other than villainous T-Bag, he sets out on a mission to rescue him. The old gang of Sucre and C-Note will join the quest to reunite Scofield with Sara and his son, Michael Jr.
The Prison Break writers have been teasing that a scene in episode 8 of the series will make them ?weep together.? Speculations are rife that Lincoln will have to die to save his brother after he has to connect himself with some deadly organisations.
Prison Break Extended
Disappointed fans have been lamenting for long that Prison Break?s nine-episode limited revival is too short to enjoy the show. It seems that Fox has taken notice and probably the show could be extended much more than that.
Fan favorite Wentworth Miller talked about the future of the series in an interview with Digital Spy. Miller told the publication that ?The reboot is nine new episodes airing in spring 2017, and then depending on how it’s received, and who’s available, there could be another conversation about another bite of the apple. We’ll see??
With good ratings for the TV show, more episodes of Prison Break can be expected to be added on the season 5. Or, the show could evolve into Prison Break season 6. In the meantime, stay tuned to TheBitBag for regular updates of your favorite television shows.
