Prison Break Season 5

Prison Break fans may have to wait until Spring 2017 for the official revival of the popular series, but with the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2016 happening from July 21 to 24, a lot of spoilers regarding the sequel series have been revealed.

The SDCC issue of Entertainment Weekly recently revealed new stills and storyboards from the premiere episode of the Prison Break Season 5. Apparently, after Lincoln shares with Sara information about Michael Scofield alive and being held in a Middle Eastern prison, he becomes the target of new villains.

?If people start finding out that Michael is still alive, then it puts their larger secret agenda at risk,? executive producer Paul Scheuring tells EW. ?They?ll kill anybody that finds out.?

The sneak peak from the storyboards revealed Lincoln driving a Tesla in a car chase with new villains Van Gogh (Steve Mouzakis) and A&W (Marina Benedict) targeting him. But though Lincoln?s ?always getting himself into trouble,? Dominic Purcell, who portrays Lincoln, says that this time around, he?s ?much more aware of the consequences of his actions.? It will still be quite an interesting start for the season premiere as during the chase, Lincoln gets run off the road. So he has a rather daunting task up ahead of him as he will have to battle local villains before he heads to Yemen to start with the rescue mission of Michael.

Also, it has been revealed that Michael has been branded a terrorist with ties to ISIS so terrorism will be a definitive plotline. And, Sara, Michael?s love interest, is now married to a new guy revealed as Jacob, played by Mark Feuerstein, though earlier reports revealed him as Scott Ness.

In addition, Purcell?s stunt double, John MacDonald, seems to have unintentionally revealed the release date of the upcoming series.

@johnnymacstunts said: ?It was a blast being on #PrisonBreak…greatest people, can’t wait until March’17 it will be epic! #lucky #love.?

So it appears March 17 is the official premiere date of the revival series which coincides with the Spring 2017 release date that was announced earlier.

Meanwhile, the Prison Break crew will be heading to the San Diego Comic-Con where we can expect a new trailer and far more reveals. The original series stars, Wentworth Miller (Michael), Dominic Purcell (Lincoln), Sarah Wayne Callies (Sara) and Robert Knepper (T-Bag), along with producers Vaun Wilmott and Michael Horowitz, will participate in the “Fox Action Showcase” hour Sunday, July 24 at 12:30 p.m. in Hall H.

An exclusive new mini poster of the revival series has also been unveiled prior to the SDCC, which you can check out below courtesy of TV Insider.

Here?s the synopsis: ?In the drama?s new chapter, when clues surface that suggest a previously thought-to-be-dead Michael may be alive, Lincoln and Sara reunite to engineer the series? biggest escape ever, as three of Fox River State Penitentiary?s most notorious escapees, T-Bag, C-Note and Sucre, are pulled back into the action.?

The nine-episode Prison Break Season 5 is expected to debut sometime in Spring 2017.
