Prison Break Season 5: Major Character Returns, Michael Scofield Still In Prison?

By on

Fans will be excited to learn that Prison Break Season 5 returns with a major veteran character in the upcoming revival of the hit drama series.

Sarah Wayne Callies finally confirmed that she would be returning to the forthcoming limited-series of the Prison Break revival to reprise her role of Dr. Sara Tancredi.

The 38-year-old actress confirmed the news on social media by posting a throwback picture of her prison medic character on Instagram to her 387,000 followers, captioning it: ?The question was #prisonbreak – the answer is yes?.?

Dr. Sara is now be married to the Scot Ness, a professor of Economics at Cornell, played by Royal Pains star Mark Feuerstein.
Both Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell already confirmed back in January to return as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows.

According to TVLine, the new chapter of the drama picks after Michael?s apparent death in the DVD series, where Sara has moved on with her life raising her and Michael?s child with her new husband.

After clues emerge that Michael may still be alive, Sara contacts Lincoln to engineer the series?s greatest escape ever. Michael is believed to be imprisoned in Yemen after he faked his own death and Sara and Lincoln now assemble their old team together with Fernando, C-Note, to go on a mission to rescue him.

Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar and Amaury Nolasco are expected to reprise their roles as T-Bag, C-Note and Fernando but there is no official confirmation from them so far.

Earlier we revealed that Augustus Prew of The Borgias and Rick Yune of Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift fame are the latest actors to join the revival of the Prison Break series. ?Prew will play a character named Whip, who is described as funny, crazy (read: lethal) and pretty damn sharp. Yune, meanwhile, will portray Ja, a Korean identity thief whose disheveled appearance belies his genius.?

In addition Deadline stated that Steve Mouzakis of I, Frankenstein will play Van Gogh, a bad-ass nut-job.

But how these criminals are supposedly connected to the plot line of the drama still remains a mystery.

Original producers Paul Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead return to executive produce the revival which will begin filming in Vancouver in April. Scheuring will serve as showrunner/writer.

Hopefully, Prison Break Season 5 will debut sometime in late 2016 or most likely in early 2017.
