FOX?s revival of the popular crime thriller Prison Break, which essentially is the fifth season of the highly anticipated television series, is set to return in early 2017.
The original action drama centered on Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), a young man determined to save his convicted brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), from death row by hatching an elaborate escape plan to bring him out of prison. In the four-year long series that aired on FOX from 2005-2009, Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows made friends and enemies along the way on their journey to escape the prison and became involved in serious conspiracies. Michael Scofield fell in love and married Dr. Sara Tancredi, had a son and also made friends with inmates C-Note and Sucre while he even got involved with psychopaths such as T-Bag and corrupt government agents in the likes of Paul Kellerman.
FOX lately dropped a sneak peek trailer and executive producer Dawn Olmstead promised that all the people you loved from the original Prison Break are making a return for the ?biggest escape yet.?
So where are all the characters in the Prison Break Revival now?
Michael Scofield is alive
Apparently Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) is still alive despite having been shown dead by the Direct-to-DVD conclusion in the ?Final Break.? He had sacrificed himself to save his wife and son but the revival drama has him back. He is now revealed to be incarcerated in a prison called ?Ogygia? in Yemen.
He is now known as the infamous terrorist Kaniel Outis who has had quite a success breaking people out of prisons. His special set of ?prison-breaking? skills made him a favorite among criminals underground and even the Islamic terrorist organization ISIS. His involvement with terrorists has changed him a lot mentally and even physically. And later, his refusal to work with them has landed him in prison. He also supports a new set of tattoos on his lower arms and hands that will also prove crucial to his new mission.
Dr. Sara has remarried
Michael Scofield?s ex-wife and mother to his son, Dr Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies), has now moved on with her life after she thought him dead. She is now married to a new guy, Jacob, played by Mark Feuerstein. He is a college professor.
Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) has been living alone since his brother went down as the latest trailer reveals that only when he realizes that Michael is alive did he care to meet Sara. He plans to rescue Michael and storyboards of the Prison Break chapter gave a sneak peek of a car chase in the premiere episode, where he is run off the road by new villains Van Gogh (Steve Mouzakis) and A&W (Marina Benedict). He will finally reach Yemen to rescue his brother.
Theodore Bagwell (Robert Knepper) aka T-Bag is the one who reveals the survival of Michael Scofield to Lincoln Burrows. The psychotic villain has shifted personalities between a dark hearted killer to a reformed bad boy throughout the series. But the burning question remains, where does T-Bag?s loyalty lie now? Is he manipulating Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows with an ulterior motive or just trying to help.
Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco) will also be joining in the mission to rescue Michael Scofield. It remains unclear where he has been but earlier plot leak revealed that Sucre is now working on a freelance cargo ship that travels the world, transporting illegal things. His skills will definitely come in handy to rescue Michael Scofield off a different country.
C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar) lives in New York now, and is the respected leader of an islamic center next to a Mosque and fights against radicalization. The trailer also offers C-Note?s new look where he is dressed as a traditional Muslim with a skull cap.
Not much is known about Paul Kellerman, other than the fact that actor Paul Adelstein is returning to portray the government agent. He was last seen running for President of the United States.
Prison Break will return to Fox in 2017, airing on Tuesday nights at 9/8c.
