Power Rangers Movie Update: Ex-Power Ranger Jason David Frank to Make a Cameo Appearance

By on

Jason David Frank, the actor who played the role of Tommy the Green Ranger in the original series, could have a cameo appearance in the upcoming Power Rangers movie reboot.

According to Frank, he will be involved in the movie adaptation of the 90?s hit series. ?It?s just that he does not have a clear idea of how much his involvement is going to be. He admitted that everyone behind the highly anticipated movie reboot was tight-lipped on the project.

But if there is one thing that fans can be assured of, it is the fact that Frank being involved is being talked about. Frank recognized that viewers of the original series would love to see him appear in the movie.

In 2014, Frank returned to reprise his role as Green Ranger in an episode of Super Power Beat Down. He had a fight against ?Street Fighter? character Ryu.

To those who are not so familiar with the said YouTube series, Super Power Beat Down is about selecting two fictional characters to come to a fight. Fans will then be given the chance to vote who they believe would most likely win.

During the said battle, fans have been waiting to see the Dragon Zord. Unfortunately, it did not appear in the actual fight. When the battle between Ryu and Tommy started, the latter was initially in his street clothes. But the moment he absorbed one of Ryu?s hadouken attacks, he immediately transformed into the Green Ranger. It was indeed a crazy, back and forth fight between two amazing characters.

Avid fans of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were delighted to see Frank in his role as the Green Ranger. His last appearance as the Green Ranger could also be seen as a way for the actor to tease fans about his cameo role in the upcoming Power Rangers movie, which is scheduled to hit the big screens next year.

Cast members of the Power Rangers have been introduced. The new group of teenagers that will save the earth include Dacre Montgomery ?(Red Ranger), Ludi Lin (Black Ranger), Naomi Scott (Pink Ranger), Becky G (Yellow Ranger), and RJ Cyler (Blue Ranger.

As for Frank?s appearance, fans are hoping to see him when the Power Rangers movie hits theaters on March 24, 2017.
